Training: Derek started training on the musical theatre course at the Dance School of Scotland, under the supervision of Graham Dickie, and gained BA Hons at the Arts Educational Schools London.
Theatre includes: LJ in Super Alice Smith (Trafalgar Studios), Asher and understudy Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Adelphi), lead vocalist in The West End and Beyond! (Dubai), Bookseller and understudy Beast, Cogsworth and Maurice in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (UK tour), ensemble in the 20th anniversary concert of Chess (Oslo Spektrum) and ensemble and understudy Pepper in Mamma Mia! (international tour).
Workshops: creating the roles of Ted Burgess in The Go-Between, Bert in It’s a Wonderful Life and Clyde in Bonnie and Clyde.
